Experimental Investigation of a Model HTSC Alternator

摘要

A new version of the disc model synchronous alternator with HTSC rotor winding and the stator winding of high-purity aluminum was developed and tested. The coils of the excitation winding were manufactured of Bi-2223 tape of 5 * 0.2 mm she with 19 filaments in silver matrix. The critical currents of the coils have been measured in LHe and are in the range of 70-100 A. Excitation winding of the 8-poIe alternator comprises 8 coils, the 3-phase armature winding has 12 coils. After the alternator has been assembled and undergone cryogenic tests with no-load and short-circuit curves the main parameters have been determined. The alternator rating at operating temperature will be around 1-3 kVA.
