A comparative study of the microbial contents of a chlorinated VS an ozonated/chlorinated marine mammal system

Samples for microbial identificatin and enumeration were taken for a ten week study from two marine mammal systems.Holding Pool # 1 is a semi-recirculating natural seawater tank of 615,000 liter capacity that was treated daily with sodium hypochlorite to attain levels of DPD measurable oxidants between 0.3-0.5 mg/1.This pool housed three adult beluga whales,Delphinapterus leucas.Holding Pool #2 and #2A is a two pool complex consisting of a 615,600 liter holing pool and a 140,600 liter satellite pool.
