Why layered wall inner shells do not buckle

In contrast to wide-spread understanding, the layered wall inner shell shows an extremely stable behaviour under the combined action of prestress and thermal restraint. This is confirmed theoretically using a new solution for the thin cylindricalshell confined to a rigid circular solid. The main condition for safety against buckling is proper layer assembly with layer contact according to current codes and standards.
