A new model of a tyre-soil system was described to determine the traction forces of pneumatic wheels such as: drawbar-pull, rolling resistance, driving forces and driving torque of the wheel. This model is constructed on the basis of the known shearing-horizontal displacement and pressure–plate sinkage theories. A new approach consists in determining the forces on the three-dimensional contact area between the tyre and the soil, which is determined with the assistance of a new method, which taking into consideration tyre deformations. In the analysis, it takes into account the impact of the vertical component of the shear force on the determined wheel traction parameters. The traction calculation parameters take into account specific values of initial parameters of models in relation to the position on the considered tyre three-dimensional area, which is assigned a different radius on the tyre, on its width as well as the wheel angle of rotation. In the performed preliminary verification process on the basis of the empirical experiments and simulation calculations was obtained a good accuracy of the model on the light loosened soil for the drawbar-pull force of the 13.9-36 drive tyre.
