Air pollution is one of the biggest environmental problem in Indonesia that may be caused,e.g., by industrial activities and traffic emission as well as peatland fire in the dry season. The aim of thiswork is to discuss influences of these emission sources through the evaluation of mass base size distributionof ultrafine, fine and coarse particles and carbonaceous component of ultrafine particle collected atresidential and educational area in Padang city.The size fractionated particulate matter (PM) at two different sites located in urbanresidential(RA) and remote (Andalas University, AU) areas were collected by running a cascade air sampler,what we call ANS, that has stages of PM_(10/2.5/1/0/5/0.1), for 24 hours with the average flowrate 40 l/m for aperiod of two weeks (March, 08th – 18th 2018 (rainy season), 60 samples in total). Particle-boundcarbonaceous components as OC, EC, TC were analyzed using the Sunset Carbon Analyzer following theIMPROVE_TOR protocol.
