A microcomputer-based system for the quantification of arterystenosis angiography

An algorithm described has been implemented using the Cprogramming language on a microcomputer with incorporated frame grabber.Thus a readily available clinically applicable tool has been developed.Tests have been carried out using test objects constructed in Perspexwhich simulate arteries of various diameters and also asymmetricstenoses. Results obtained from the computer show good agreement withthose expected. In particular the advantages of videodensitometry overdiameter measurement are demonstrated for an asymmetric stenosis
