Summary form only given. This paper presents the outcomes of aWorkshop titled `Technological Literacy Counts': which was held October9-10, 1998 in Baltimore, MD, USA. A goal of the Workshop was toestablish a working and partnering relationship between engineers andprecollege (K-12) educators. The Workshop was a two-day, highlyparticipative and interactive event comprised of plenaries, panelsessions and breakouts. The paper reports on the issues raised, theresolutions proposed, future collaborations between the engineering andK-12 education communities, a plan for on-going workshops andconferences, and an action plan for both short-term and long-termactivities
