How we can better learn from electrical accidents

摘要

This paper addresses benefits of having a heavily populatedelectrical safety incident database from which to make decisions onequipment and system design, work practices, training, and improvementprograms. Limitations of national and industrial electrical accidentdatabases are reviewed. The paper emphasizes the importance of thoroughinvestigation of near miss incidents to validate recommendations fromincidents with injuries and includes an analysis of 600 electricalsafety incident investigations in one large chemical company.
