On-demand education: transforming the way technical professionalswork and learn

It is pointed out that instructional television as exemplified byNTU (National Technological University) is moving toward a highlyindividualized, on-demand mode. This is a vision shared by NTU andseveral of its corporate subscribers, particularly IBM. It is noted thatnew technologies will permit the integration of education into one'swork in a virtually seamless fashion, and the overall approach toinstruction will change dramatically. The transition will beincremental, and changes transforming the way technical professionalswork and learn have already begun
