Real-time Model Predictive Control is designed for Gust Load Alleviation applications in aircraft control systems. Matlab and Simulink simulation environments are utilized in the design effort and combined with Data Acquisition and measurement hardware. Full closed-loop control systems are applied to a pre-existing wind tunnel setup for real-time GLA experiments. The MPC architecture has full control of two ailerons on a flexible half-plane model to achieve wing root load reduction. Challenges and results in designing and executing a real-time optimal control method are presented.
