Structural engineers have a higher frequency of claims and a higher cost per claim than any other branch of engineering. Learning about our responsibilities, as structural engineers and the conditions for liability may help to bring our claims experiences in line with other branches of engineering. There are some simple things we can do to reduce claims, including sharing experiences and not making people angry.
