QUIMIVOX MOBILE: Assistive Tool to Teach Mendeleev Table

摘要

Technical progress brings new educational tools implemented in mobile devices. However, this improvement rarely benefit to blind and visually impaired people because no software adaptation are made to attend visual impairment. Thus, researches are needed to make technological adaptations that will attend this public. To purchase this aim, this work presents a piece of software named Quimivox Mobile, implemented in Android OS. It enables to retrieve chemical information in periodic table toward voice synthesis and simple interactions. The software is designed to be accessible for every people, visually impaired users or notThe software has been evaluated toward experimental tests involving visually impaired users. The experiment highlight that the software is very pertinent and efficient to help visually impaired user in chemical study.
