Analysis on Gender Differences in Energy Conservation Behaviour

Residential sector shows complex patterns of energy consumption due to human and physical characteristics of the household. In addition, generally, there are many differences between the habits and attitudes of men and women. Using Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework, this research focused on investigating the gender differences in energy conservation among residential users in Malaysia. The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between genders towards intention on energy conservation behavior. This study reveals that quantitative research method which is crosstabs in SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) was a suitable method in identifying which genders with strong intention to conserve energy. The outcome of this research indicates that there is a strong relationship between female towards intention for energy conservation behavior.
