Landsat 8 satellite is a natural resource that is characterized by having continuity and consistency in analyzing observations of terrestrial changes in the past and the future in a time series and has modified the value of spatial resolution, spectral, temporal, and radiometric, so as to provide a number of opportunities utilization, such as identifying disaster forest fires. Forest as authorized and living resources, appropriately guarded sustainability of unbridled exploitation. Conversion of forest to cultivation, mining, agriculture in a way that does not sound environmental wisdom, such as burning of land, will face a lack of continuity and succession of tempests plant growth and the increasing amount of burnt area mapping carbon. Accurate assessment is needed to calculate the amount of biomass, for it parameters need to detect, reduce ambiguity, and reliably discriminate burned areas. This study aims to obtain the best models parameters for burned areas using Landsat 8, the results show NBR gave the best results compared to other parameters.
