CPI, over the years, has offered and continues to provide information on reporting of MDI emissions. In, 2012 CPI launched a new and improved tool to provide industry information to meet mandatory emissions reporting obligations to the U.S. EPA. CPI's Regulatory Compliance Assistance Program (RCAP) is a tool to help facilities that manufacture, process or otherwise use MDI and PMDI calculate their Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reporting. This program was created as general guidance to help facilities understand and estimate MDI or PMDI emissions for TRI reporting under the "diisocyanates" category. The tool is presented in an interactive spreadsheet format allowing MDI users to select examples that best represents their operation. CPI's Product Stewardship Committee continues to enhance the tool to cnsure it's user-friendly . In 2013, CPI expanded the tool to include 12 additional application examples. The ACC Diisocyanate Panel found this tool instrumental in petitioning EPA to remove MDI as a Hazardous Air Pollutant in 2002. Emissions data continues to indicate that the Reference Fenceline Concentration (Rfc) has never been exceeded. This presentation will highlight the tool and the ongoing RCAP program.
