Research of Spraying Area of a Two-Rotor Crop-sprayer for Small-scale Farming

Small-scale farming is operated in a relatively small sized farmland located in the residence area by a few farmers. These characteristics limit the use of crop-sprayer for large-scale farming, which is designed to distribute chemicals effectively for entire large farmland located at far from residence, because spraying area should be limited in order not to exceed chemicals from the small farmland. Previous research shows spraying area and duration can be limited if a nozzle is placed just under a UAV's rotor. However, operating UAV is very difficult and not practical for small-scale farmers whose average age is more than 60 years old. Authors designed four wheels road vehicles using two UAV rotors to distribute agricultural chemicals within the limited area. This paper describes the simulation result to show the effect for spraying area if two rotors are placed side by side.
