A Ka-band power-combined amplifier is presented based on a six way quasi-planar power divider/combiner. The directional coupler and three-stage travelling wave waveguide power divider/combiner are combined and analyzed respectively. The measured passive result shows that the back-to-back insertion loss is less than 1.5dB over the frequency range of 27-33GHz, which demonstrates the low-loss performance of the proposed dividing/combing structure. Based on the passive power divider/combiner, a six-way power-combined amplifier has been implemented with six medium power amplifier chips. The measured P_(-1dB) of the power-combined amplifier is greater than 26.5dBm in this frequency band. The obtained combining efficiency is about 83-89%.
