Four kinds of non-woven fabrics were chosen in this study for biofilm culturing under natural condition. A shorter biofilm formation time and higher purification rate of COD indicated that PET is more preferable than PP for microorganism to accrete and grow. Compare to the material, surface property of non-woven fabrics caused more significant affection on purification rate. The optimum density of PET non-woven fabrics was 25cm2/L in this study. Under this condition, the removal rate of turbidity, COD, NH3-N and TP was 45.4%, 29.5%, 50.3% and 35.7%.
