Staff Efficiency in Nursing Home for the Aged in China: Case Studies in Beijing and Shanghai

摘要

The investigations results reflect some features in China's nursing homes. First, there exists no clear definition of a nursing home exactly. Expect the case of QN, the other two fecilities actually accept both residents need nursing service and who do not. As the building is essentially designed for the healthy ones and the nursing area is not distinguished, problems such as over length of circulations occurred as a result. In addition, as most architects still lack experience in nursing home design and the insufficiency of relative researches, under most circumstances, the layout of such facilities are just imitations of hotel designs.
