Nowadays, college English teaching and learning is attached greater and greater importance. In 2004 and in 2007, the Ministry of Education issued "College English Curriculum Requirements" respectively. Both versions emphasize the importance of applying modern information technology into college English teaching and more attention is paid to students' main position and teachers' leading role. Therefore, it is certain that the study on college English autonomous learning with the application of internet and multimedia is very meaningful and practical. Beginning from the analysis of relevant theories---the theory of autonomous learning and the theory of information technology, the article investigates the way of practicing college English teaching reform. Here, the way mentioned is how to implement the teaching model of autonomous learning and how to integrate information technology with this autonomous learning. All in all, it is expected to train students' lifelong learning ability and make them know how to apply information technology with the discipline learning.
