Analysis of the root lock mechanism of the locked space deploying mast

The root lock mechanism is a key component of the space deploying mast and decides on the function of the mast. After analysis of the root lock mechanism, it is simplified as a kind of mechanism with two sliders and a spring. At first, in the situation that the mast is locked, when the root lock mechanism is disturbed, the vibration equation of the mechanism is set up. Judging methods of bifurcation characteristics of equilibrium points are utilized to obtain the influence of structural parameters on stability of the mechanism movement. After the above analysis, actual values of some structural parameters are confirmed. Then solving method of the dynamic equation and judging method of stability of the mechanism period solutions are studied too. At last, numerical stimulation program validates stability of the mechanism. After the analysis, selection of structural parameters is more reasonable and the design is more correct.
