Research on Regional Gaps in Design Evaluation using the Quality Karte Research on Design Evaluation and Diagnostic System Creation 2

摘要

In this experiment, a questionnaire was used to clarify the effects of differences in specific national lifestyles and living environments on design evaluation.The countries represented in the study were the 5 leading European countries in design (France, Germany, UK,Denmark, and Italy), plus Japan, making a total of 6 countries.The results of analysis showed that there were gaps in design evaluation between the countries. The evaluation gaps were different for each item evaluated,and taking this into consideration, it was possible to extract the major factors behind the evaluation gaps.These factors were the degree of recognition (degree the evaluator was familiar with the item being evaluated),lifestyle, the evaluator's attachment to designs from his own country, and preference for materials. In particular,various gaps were seen regarding evaluation of Japanese designs by different European countries depending on which country the evaluator was from.
