摘要

We show that custom adaptive very large scale integrated (VLSI) circuit controllers can directly control commercially available wavefront phase correctors. These conrollers achieve real-time waveforont compensation under conditions of strong intensity scitillations. Their control strategy is based on the optimization of a measurable performance index. Optimization is carried out using parallel perturbative stochastic gradient descent. We describe VLSI image-plane processors designed to compute a variety of application specific performance metrics in real-time.
