Abstract: Glaucoma procedures tend to induce ocular hypotony.Seeking to determine the aqueous outflow pathway, weinvestigated casting the outflow network by in vivoinjection of a polymer in the anterior chamber.Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) casts of cilioscleralsinus and aqueous veins were made by injecting amixture of methyl methacrylate, initiator, promoter andblue ink, through the limbus, in the anterior chamberof a anesthetized rabbit. The transfer of PMMA from thecilioscleral sinus of the rabbit eye to the aqueousveins was shown. The anterior chamber and thecilioscleral sinus casts were colored in blue but theaqueous veins casts were transparent due to thefiltering effect of the Meshwork discriminating the inkpenetration in the aqueous veins. This technique willbe useful to help understanding the role-played by theaqueous veins after glaucoma surgery, or afterimplantation of devices designed to reduce intraocularpressure.!17
