The need for new, improved or cheaper products appears to be unbounded. An army of scientists, engineers and other specialists of the most varying fields is developing or improving the most varied technologies, equipment, machines and methods. Included in this is a not inconsiderable number whihc is occupied only with the production of electronic modules. The success is impressive. COnstantly moe efficient technologies and production systems are available ot the users. The investment ocsts nad the quality requirments increase. The product variations multiply. It becomes more and more important to intoduce a product more quickly. The pressure to keep costs down gets stronger. Intellignet solutions become more and more important. Many ways have to be taken at the same time. An ideal solution is not apparent.An almost incaluculable number of factors indluence the product costs. To take them all into account here would go far above he limits of this exposition .Several factors, however, are often much underestimated and their importance not recgnised. The technical and organisatorial combinatoin of single systems into production groups belongs in this categroy. Good possibilities for the reductin of costs and improvement of quality remain unused.
