Abstract: The influence of phase-matching conditions on the generation of the third and fifth harmonics of Nd:YAG-laser radiation in the plasma of optical breakdown produced on surfaces of metal targets is experimentally investigated. It is demonstrated that an appropriate choice of phase- matching conditions provides the opportunity to considerably increase the efficiency of optical frequency multiplication via harmonic generation. We determine optimal conditions of focusing incident radiation for the efficient generation of the third and fifth harmonics in a laser-produced plasma. !26
