Designing probes to study The Elderly under the context of China

摘要

The intentions of this paper are to describe how and for what reasons probes can be applied for studying the elderly under the context of China and to discuss the complexities involved in create culture probes for the elderly with poor skills in reading and writing in China. Lots of old people in China have a very low level of education and a high level of health problems, and live lonely. The applied culture Probe Packages were developed on the basis of information received from experts and ethnographic data. We conclude that, designing culture Probe Packages to study the elderly under the context of China is a good approach, and the culture Probe Packages are great tools to study the elderly.
