Network-Based Bibliometric Method for Analyzing Collaboration and Publishing Tendencies

In the recent decade, scientific collaboration across disciplines has become more effective and productive in terms of solutions. The integration of sciences makes our life better and easier to practice. Most of our life needs are the result of involving theories and concepts from a discipline to another. Therefore, it is important to look for which disciplines that can be more productive in terms of addressing our everyday life issues. Moreover, it is crucial for researchers to target appropriate venues (journal/ conference) for their works aiming at making their contributions more reliable and trustable by passing them through experts. In this work, we aim at generating a multidiscipline co-authorship network and investigate the tendency of researchers in selecting venues for publishing their articles. We also investigate the collaboration in disciplines and across disciplines, which is important for strengthening the quality of researches. Furthermore, we plan to use a network-based bibliometric method and the concepts of complex network in our analysis approach. Finally, we believe that this study will positively contribute in; 1) support the decision of scientific researchers in targeting the appropriate venues for their contributions. 2) Support researchers to be aware on their collaboration partners in order to produce effective contributions.
