Using a Data Warehouse System to Monitor and Analyze Student Achievement in Teaching Process : Student paper

摘要

Data warehouse systems (DWSs) are widespread in business organizations, but their usage in education is lower compared with others sectors. The experiences of DWSs usage in complex business organizations can be applied in education organizations, too. Pandemic challenges forced the faculties to change the paradigms of education and to make full transition towards online learning. In order to evaluate the teaching-learning process and to compare its outcomes within traditional and remote settings data from different sources would be analyzed. In the paper we present a pilot project of a DWS for monitoring the students' accomplishment of course requirements in the lecturing process, both within the traditional and distance learning environment. We present: the data sources, data Extraction/Transform/Load process, database schema of DWS, and examples of reporting functions for data analysis processes.
