摘要

In order to extract the maximum power from a wind energy conversion system (WECS), a controller is needed to run the system continuously at its MPP (maximum power point). In this research work, a super twisting algorithm (STA) is proposed for extracting the maximum power from a variable speed wind energy conversion system (VSWECS), based on a permanent magnet AC synchronous generator (PMSG). The shaft speed and its derivative are estimated using a semi-high gain observer (SHGO). Matlab/Simulink is used to test the effectiveness of the proposed technique, under a stochastic wind speed profile. The simulation results substantiate the effectiveness of the proposed technique in terms of providing a fast and accurate MPPT (maximum power point tracking). A comparative analysis of the proposed scheme is provided with the feedback linearization (FBL) for further validation.
