Nominal Metaphor Identification Using Myanmar WordNet and Bilingual Dictionaries

摘要

Nowadays, metaphor interpretation becomes one of the important issues in natural language processing. Many researchers are attention on the topic of metaphor in natural language processing area. In machine translation, metaphors are important to be aware of what they mean. But metaphors are difficult to comprehend and these are one of the reasons for increasing translation errors. Myanmar Language is a low resources language and some resources for Myanmar Language are not perfect and ready to use. For Myanmar Language, no research has been done on metaphor. This paper presents nominal metaphor identification using Myanmar WordNet (MMWN). English-Myanmar Bilingual Dictionaries and wn2sql are also used to solve the issues found in this work. General discussion about the issues and explanations are also described in this paper.
