Workshop layout design has attracted wide attention of researchers, and there are relatively mature theories and methods for it. However, because of the frontier of bionic algorithm and the difficulty of integration with simulation technology, the experimental teaching methods in workshop layout design technology are still lacking. For the problem above, based on the establishment of the mathematical model of workshop layout design, an experimental teaching platform for workshop layout simulation was developed by combining genetic algorithm with advanced simulation technology. Through this platform, interactive layout optimization and simulation can be parameterized. Consequently students can achieve a deep understanding of the relationship between the parameters and the performance of the algorithm, and get the experiment learning effect of the mastery of the theory and method for workshop layout.
