In order to improve the navigation safety of the inland ships, the general framework of connected ship based on the technical maintenance system is introduced from three aspects, containing information collection, transmission, and processing. The function of the "connected ship" system is to determine a reasonable solution corresponding to the national conditions by utilizing the method of comprehensive analyses. This system has a prominent ability of information communication from ship to ship and from ship to shore, as well as significant potential in building an intelligent digital waterway.
