his paper presents the development of metallization and interconnection schemes for e-beamevaporated polycrystalline silicon thin-film solar cells on glass substrates. The method involves electrically isolatingmini-cells by laser scribing, and then forming an isolation layer on each laser scribe. The main advantage of thismetallization is to have a single aluminium evaporation step for the formation of finger and busbar features, as wellas for series interconnection. The open-circuit voltage of the mini-module is the sum of individual cells’ voltages,indicating a successful interconnection. Of particular interest is a method for series connection of individual cells toprimarily minimize light leakage to the glass substrate and thus to reduce associated current loss.
