To ensure initial oscillation excitation of an electromechanical resonator in the second mode, the Bessel filter is modified by introducing the positive feedback of its own that in the no-signal input condition makes it possible to provide the filter operation in the generator mode at a frequency close to the resonator's natural frequency. Under the effect of the harmonic wave input the resonator is excited, and in its turn it provides the sine wave input to the filter/generator. At the specified magnitude of the input amplitude the positive feedback in the filter/generator fails to affect its operation, and the device begins to operate in the filter mode.
