Recent work on the ESA Plasma Radiation Database(PARADE) on CO_2 flows and the addition of acollisional-radiative capability to the Navier-Stokescode TINA has enabled an assessment to be made of theexcited states of CO and C_2 in the flowfield in theRHTG test case 3. Flowfield calculations have beenperformed for the frontshield only and the radiativefluxes in the UV-visible range from CO and C_2 havebeen calculated. The findings show flowfield andradiative flux results consistent with previouscontributions, and a reduction in the radiation from theapplication of the collisional-radiative model.
