Recent work on the ESA Plasma Radiation Database (PARADE) on CO_2 flows and the addition of a collisional-radiative capability to the Navier-Stokes code TINA has enabled an assessment to be made of the excited states of CO and C_2 in the flowfield in the RHTG test case 3. Flowfield calculations have been performed for the frontshield only and the radiative fluxes in the UV-visible range from CO and C_2 have been calculated. The findings show flowfield and radiative flux results consistent with previous contributions, and a reduction in the radiation from the application of the collisional-radiative model.
