This study investigates yellow emitting Eu~(2+) doped Sr_(1.9)Ba_(0.1)SiO_4 Thin Film Phosphors (TFPs). Sr1.9Bao.iSiO_4:Eu~(2+) TFPs were studied for application in a color-tunable white-light emitting diode. Sr_(1.9)Bao.iSiO_4:Eu~(2+) TFPs were deposited on a 2x2cm2 quartz substrate using electron beam evaporation. The brightness and luminescence efficiency of the thin films improved as the deposition temperature and thickness of the Sr_(1.9)Ba_(0.1)SiO_4:Eu~(2+) TFPs were increased. Sr_(1.9)Ba_(0.1)SiO_4:Eu~(2+)TFPs with increasing thickness (0.85μm to 2m, 3μm) showed enhancement of PL emission by factors of 2.0 and 2.5, respectively. The TFPs were characterized by means of photoluminescence (PL), x-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-transmittance, and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
