To solve the question of a vehicle front axle cracking, the strength analysis and improvement design were proposed. By UG software, front axle assembly 3 dimension frame model was built, then was imported into PATRAN software to build finite element model and solve by NASTRAN software. The analysis revealed that on pavement in poor driving conditions or overloading a straight line, the stress was too large on former beam central and steering bracket, permanent deformation may occur, even cracking in the dynamic load factor 2.5. And crescent plates may be a problem in turn operating condition. By hot-rolled steel plate with WL440 materials, while strengthening the weakness of the structure, front axle assembly fatigue life of 300,000 Km, increases by 50% and the maximum load capacity of 2150Kg, increases 19.4%, fully can meet the harsh conditions of the use requirements.
