The controller design is a challenging task for the electric propulsion system (EPS) of the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), which influences the economical efficiency and emission performance of HEV significantly. A singleaxle parallel hybrid powertrain configuration for the IVECO vehicle is described firstly. Secondly, a DSP-based controller design procedure including hardware and software is given in detaiL Finally, the controller with the integrated starter/generator (ISG) is tested in the test bench. The test data shows that the controller works well together with ISG and the controller satisfies the performance requirements of the single axle hybrid powertrain.
