Study on Perception of Non-governmental-funded Science and Technology Awards: A Survey Based on the Members of the Scientific Community

摘要

The non-governmental-funded science and technology award is an important component of national science and technology award system. Though it is still in a subordinate position to the state-funded science and technology award, the multi-functions performed by it is no less important than those performed by governmental awards. Based on a great deal of investigations, this paper studies the scientific community's perception of the functions and roles of the social science and technology awards, gives a conclusion that the Non-governmental-funded science and technology awards in China have been gradually developed, however, the scientific community doesn't recognize them as we expected. At last, this paper analyzes the causes of the low perception in four aspects and then puts forward four suggestions to promote it.
