Study on the Development and Improvement of Ecological Construction’s Assessment Criteria in China and Abroad

Along with the global resources and the energy dry up day after day, the environment daily worsening, the sustainable development achieved the various countries' universal recognition. The architecture industry itself inhere energy consumption characteristic, so it plays the important role in the path of sustainable development. To address the issue, academe circles put forward the influential concept of “ecological construction” which means construction should take the road of sustainable development. Develop the “ecological construction” is the inevitable choice after the introspection of resource wasting, resource scarcity and environment pollution. Now with our rapidly growing city construction，urgent demand has been placed on ecological construction. However，the cognition on essence of green building presently remained obscure in China. In this situation，one set of assessment criteria is asked to advances in order to properly orientate ecological construction，so as to promote extension of ecological construction. Ecological construction assessment criteria are the foundation of the green building putting in practice. The essence of ecological construction assessment criteria is the sustainable development building assessment. Assessment should be practice under the certain sustainable development principle and certain goal. In this paper, three assessment criteria for green building, namely the LEED (USA), CASBEE (Japan) and The Green Building Evaluation Criteria (GB/T50378-2006, China) are compared in respect of central concepts, mark of assessment and result of assessment. It is expected that this research of assessment criteria could be helpful to designers of architecture in different specialties. Then, in this paper these three assessment criteria are analyzed from the position of design work. The study on this problem has important theoretical and practical meaning for enriching and developing the assessment criteria of ecological construction and boosting healthy and rapid development of ecological construction.
