This paper introduces the structure, requirements, working principle and design principles of the V-belt pulley? absorber in the automobile engine. The formula has been deduced to generate the torsional vibration frequency response characteristics curve of the crankshaft in automobile engine. And the different influences to antivibration effect have been explained by the example that are caused by the physical parameters (including torsional rigidity, rotor inertia, damping) of wheel hub, rubber ring and outer ring with the triangle groove these three components constituting a belt pulley absorber. According to the frequency response curve, it is explained that how to make the best choice in different combinations of various parameters to obtain the optimum design.
