In Process Optimisation of Freeze-drying Protocols for Particulate Vaccines

An effective freeze-drying protocol was establishedfor the production of a freeze-dried liposome product,stabilized for oral delivery by incorporating bile salt (abilosome). The stabilized bilosomes contained a syntheticvaccine directed against seasonal influenza, which canprotect ferrets against challenge. Various stages of thefreeze-drying cycle were optimised through theapplication of standard freeze-drying protocols.
