Novel film coatings are presented based on blends ofethylcellulose with a second polysaccharide, beingpreferentially degraded by enzymes in the colon ofInflammatory Bowel Disease patients (Crohn’s Disease,Ulcerative Colitis). 5-Aminosalicylic acid release isminimized in media simulating the upper GIT and sets onupon exposure to patients’ feces.
