The effect on the process time, of increasing the temperatureof the spray dispersion was investigated. It couldbe shown that the higher energy content of the warmerdispersion contributes to a more effective drying processthereby leading to considerable reduction in process time.This positive effect, where the drying process resultedin shorter process times could only be observed inprocesses, where the product temperature is higher thanthe dispersion temperature. This suggests that the energyof the tablets significantly contributes to the drying of thedispersion droplets on the tablet surface.
