Enhancement Strategies For Improving The Skin Accumulation Of Mometasone Furoate

The effect of chitosan gel, chemical enhancers (Dlimonene,Nerolidol, and Transcutol P) and iontophoresison the skin permeation and accumulation of Mometasonefuroate (MF) was evaluated. Chitosan gel containingNerolidole as chemical enhancer improved the amount ofMF in the skin without any permeation across the skin.The application of electric current (anodal iontophoresis)to the chitosan gel increased the accumulation of MF, aswell. By the way, the combination of anodal iontophoresisand chemical enhancer (Nerolidol) produced no furtherenhancement.
