CC 2011 General Chair's Welcome

Welcome to the 8~(th) ACM Conference on Creativity and Cognition (C&C 2011)! We are excited to have you join us. Each conference has a story, and I want to briefly share some parts of the story of C&C 2011 with you. The story of C&C 2011 really begins with C&C 2009 at Berkeley with Nick Bryan-Kinns as the Chair. At C&C 2009, Georgia Institute of Technology had a strong and lively presence with about a dozen participants and about a score of papers, posters, and artworks. At a C&C 2009 party sponsored by the Georgia Tech GVU Center , my Georgia Tech colleagues and I became pleasantly aware that so many of us shared a common interest in creativity!
