摘要

Studies have identified the importance of trust in lowering transaction costs in teams. In this study, the impact of individual personality dimensions on perceived trust is examined for individuals working in two different team settings: virtual or face-to-face. Results of the experiment show that personality impacted perceived trust in the virtual teams but not the face-to-face teams. This may suggest that in the absence of media rich face-to-face team interactions, individuals develop perceptions of trust based on instinctual personality tendencies.
