Our industry leading separation technology enables us to separate and recover plastics from complex mixed streams of end-of-life vehicles at our facility in the UK. We have developed several products based on the recovered plastics, including PP, HDPE, ABS, PS and mineral filled PP. To create our range of standard products we use enriched plastic flakes, recovered using our process, that are compounded with small amounts of additives to modify properties such as impact strength, melt flow rate, flexural modulus and color. The resulting material grades have favorable mechanical properties and are suitable in a wide variety of injection molded products used in the horticultural, construction, packaging and automotive industries. The current products do have some property limitations (such as color,) but we will discuss ongoing efforts to produce materials with improved performance for use in demanding applications such as automotive interiors and bumpers.
